      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>Daniel Mayer is an acclaimed bassist and guitarist from New Jersey. A distinctive emerging artist of his generation, Daniel has performed throughout New York City as well as internationally at the Panama Jazz Festival (Panama), Nublu (NYC), Jordan Hall (MA), the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (MA), and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Canada). He has performed and collaborated with a range of artists, including José Soto, Nasheet Waits, Gabriel Nieves, Nat Adderley Jr., Bruno Bruni, and Fortuno. Daniel leads his own cross-genre group performing original compositions spearheaded by his unique voices on the bass and guitar. While initially starting out on the guitar at the age of nine, Daniel eventually fell in love with the bass and ultimately resolved to pursue both instruments. He holds a B.A. in Music from Bowdoin College and an M.M. in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and Grant Award to study with Cecil McBee, Dave Holland, Frank Carlberg, and Jason Moran. Daniel has been invited to teach and give masterclasses at institutions throughout North America.</image:caption>
